Targeted prescribing Acute sore throat: FeverPAIN score to identify high risk of bacterial infection
Acute sinusitis: only consider antibiotics if no improvement in symptoms persisting for >10 days
Acute exacerbation of COPD: number and severity of symptoms, exacerbation history and risk of complications, previous sputum culture and sensitivity results
Reducing duration of antibiotic
Uncomplicated UTI in women: 3 days
Community-acquired pneumonia: 5 days
Acute sinusitis: 5 days
Sore throat: 5 days (10 days for Pen V)
Back up antibiotics
